How to Remove Scorch Marks on Marble Tile

Marble is a beautiful, elegant material that is often used as tiling around fireplaces, kitchen counters, bathroom vanities and flooring tiles. However, accidents happen; a burning ember from the fireplace could scorch a marble tile, a dropped kitchen match may burn a counter surface or even a small fire could cause singed flooring. If the damage is severe enough so that it feels rough when you run your finger over the burnt area of marble, you will need to contact a stone restoration specialist. However, if the scorched area is still smooth, use household cleaning products to remove the burn marks. Does this Spark an idea?

My mom used Old Dutch cleansing powder (it has bleach in it) and this tile spray and let it set, then scrubbed really hard.
