How to Install Canon 2600 Printer Drivers

The Canon Pixma iP2600 is a small photo inkjet printer designed for printing high-quality photos with resolutions up to 4800 by 1200 color dpi. It includes a number of features that allow it to print photos from credit card sizes up to 8.5 by 11 inches; however, before using the printer, you need to install its drivers on the computer to allow it to communicate with printing programs.

Instructions

Windows Installation

1. Connect your Canon Pixma iP2600 printer to the computer using the supplied USB cable and turn it on.

2. Go to the Canon Pixma iP2600 drivers download page and select your Windows operating system to download the drivers to.

3. Click the "exe" installation file and click the "I agree-Begin Download" button. Click "Save" to download the driver installation file to a location on your computer preferably the desktop so you can have quicker access to it.

4. Double click the installation file from the location you saved it in and click "Run." The drivers will begin installing automatically on your computer.

Mac OS

1. Connect your Canon Pixma iP2600 printer to the computer using the supplied USB cable and turn it on.

2. Go to the Canon Pixma iP2600 drivers download page and select "Mac OS X" in the "Select OS" window.

3. Click the "dmg" driver installation file and click "I Agree-Begin Download." The installation file will begin to download automatically and will be saved to the desktop on your computer.

4. Double click the installation file to mount the disk image. Double click the mounted disk image and double click the ".pkg" file. The drivers will begin to automatically install on your Macintosh.
