Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Oysters
  • Two bowls
  • Platter
  • Ice
  • Water
  • Vegetable scrubber
  • Hot Sauce
  • Parsley
  1. Step 1

Purchase fresh oysters or catch your own.

  2. Step 2

Clean the oysters, separating the oyster meat into a bowl and the oyster shells into another container. Do not discard the shells.

  3. Step 3

Rinse the oyster meat in clean water to remove any remaining sand.

  4. Step 4

Wash the oyster shells using water and a vegetable scrubber to remove any algae and debris.

  5. Step 5

Arrange a layer of ice on the platter.

  6. Step 6

Arrange the oyster shells in a single layer on top of the ice.

  7. Step 7

Place one piece of oyster meat inside each oyster shell.

  8. Step 8

Garnish the platter with parsley. Serve with hot sauce or other dipping sauce. When serving sauces, it's best to place them into several plastic squeeze bottles which allows guests to place the sauce directly on each oyster.
