A fire in your fireplace makes a day nice and cozy. There are many products or things you can use to start your fire. This is an easy way to start your fire and it smells really nice.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 20 to 25 pine cones
  • 8 to 10 pounds of paraffin wax
  • 20 to 25 candlewicks
  • Cinnamon
  • Old coffee can
  • Wax paper
  1. Step 1

Gather pine cones from the woods or your yard. It’s best to gather them rather than buy them. They smell nicer when they are fresh from the woods or your yard.

  2. Step 2

Allow the pine cones to dry for a day or two.

  3. Step 3

Buy candlewicks. The candlewicks should be about 6 inches long. Tie one candlewick around each pine cone. Candlewicks are available at craft stores.

  4. Step 4

Put water in a large pot. Put about 1 to 2 pounds of paraffin wax in an old coffee can and add 2 tablespoons of cinnamon to the wax.

  5. Step 5

Put the pot on the stove and heat over medium heat to allow the paraffin wax to melt. When the wax has melted stir to evenly distribute the cinnamon.

  6. Step 6

Remove the pot from the heat. Hold the pine cone by the wick and dip into the paraffin wax. Coat the entire pine cone.

  7. Step 7

Place pine cones on wax paper to allow the wax to cool on the pine cones. Repeat the process until all of the pine cones have been dipped. You will have to add more wax and cinnamon as you go along so you will have to melt the new wax on the stove.

  8. Step 8

Place one or two pine cones in your fire place with logs and light the wicks to start a fragrant fire in your fireplace.
