      Sprinkle used cat litter around the base of your plants and bulbs and around the perimeter of your garden. You can sprinkle used cat litter throughout your entire yard to keep the squirrels away. Squirrels will smell the scent of the cat and stay away because they are afraid of cats. If you don't have a cat, ask a neighbor or friend for some used cat litter.

      Spray a hot pepper spray around your plants and flower bulbs. Place about ½ of a gallon of water in a pot on the stove, add ¼ of a cup of cayenne pepper and 1 tablespoon of Tabasco sauce. Bring to a boil for about 5 minutes. Allow the mixture to cool completely. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle and spray any area you want to keep squirrels out of.

      Buy bloodmeal which is available at garden centers and sprinkle it around the perimeter of your garden and throughout your yard. Squirrels are naturally repelled by the scent of bloodmeal.
