How to Make Your Hair Curly
Add curls to your hairstyle repetoire without an expensive salon perm. Non-permanent curling techniques allow you to experiment without committing to a chemical treatment. Many curling methods require you to use heat, which can damage your hair. Be sure to use a heat-protection product to prevent this. With time and practice, your hair will be bouncing and behaving in no time. Does this Spark an idea?

Use a curling iron to spiral your locks. Choose a curling iron that is the right size for your hair length and the results you want. After washing and drying your hair, part it into four sections, and secure three with clips. Take a 1-inch wide section of the loose hair and put it between the clamp and barrel of the heated curling iron. Smooth the hair from scalp to end, then turn your wrist to curl it in the direction you want. Hold for two seconds and release. Continue until all of your hair is curled.

For next-day curls, wash your hair. Part your hair into 1-inch square sections. Twist each section, spiral it down toward your scalp and secure it with a bobby pin. Let your hair air-dry overnight. Release the spirals and shake out your newly curly hair.

Use hot rollers to get curly hair. Get a set of hot rollers in various sizes. While they are heating up, split your hair into sections wide enough to fit the width of the roller and about 1 inch thick. Starting at the end, roll the roller down toward your scalp. Hold it in place with the clips provided. Wait 15 minutes, then remove the rollers.
