High blood pressure signs and symptoms can help save your life. This silent killer can sneak up with only mundane symptoms. Recognizing these mundane signs and symptoms as more than ordinary is key to catching high blood pressure before it catches you.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    GET REGULAR BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS.

The rest of the high blood pressure signs and symptoms this article will cover pale in comparison to this one step in terms of effectiveness. Nothing beats actually testing your blood pressure. If you live near a drug store that has a machine that you can test yourself in that is a help. A more accurate test happens with your doctor. Consider scheduling a twice a year check up with your physician.

  2. Step 2

    WATCH FOR LIGHTHEADEDNESS AND DIZZINESS.

High blood pressure can cause all kinds of havoc with your sense of balance and well being. Don't simply shake these sorts of symptoms off especially if you have a family history of high blood pressure.

  3. Step 3

    NOTE ANY STRANGE NAUSEA.

If you experience nausea without any explainable cause, pay close attention. Especially if it becomes combined with any other symptom you may be dealing with high blood pressure. If nausea occurs in connection with light exertion this may be a clue in to a blood pressure condition.

  4. Step 4

    REPORT REPEATED HEADACHES.

Let your physician know if you have recurrent headaches. The blood vessels in your head and face are especially sensitive to high blood pressure.

  5. Step 5

CONSIDER HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE WHEN VISION IS BLURRED.

Often your eyes will be a sign of high blood pressure since a significant amount of intricate vessels weave through your eyes. Blurry vision should be immediately explored.

** See tips and warnings below.

Tips & Warnings
  • Eat a regular diet of low cholesterol and high fiber foods.
  • Increase your vigilance if you have high cholesterol levels at a blood test.
  • Do not ignore these symptoms or put off seeing a physician. Your life could depend on it.
