Save time by not having to match socks during and after the laundering process.

Do you find yourself spending Saturday mornings matching all of those socks, especially all of those white athletic socks your children generate by the truck load during the week, you have recently laundered?

Of course, there is always a few that you have found no matches for. Where do they go? In the ‘tomb of the unknown/unmatched sock’ of course.
But then, what happens when there is no room in the tomb?

Answer: Get Grandma to fix it. (just kidding)

Here is a solution to your unmatched sock pollution.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Thirty or more large all metal safety/basting pins.
  • Container or magnet to hold the safety/basting pins.
  1. Step 1

Pin your socks, with large safety/basting pins, at the top of the socks before you place them in the washer. Do not pin the bottoms where your toes reside.

  2. Step 2

Leave your safety pinned socks together through the drying cycle also.

  3. Step 3

After drying cycle is complete, let pins and socks cool down before handling them.

  4. Step 4

After pins have thoroughly cooled down, remove from socks and place pins in container or on magnet.

Tips & Warnings
  • Purchase a magnet that you may fasten to a wall or cabinet in your laundry room where you may simply place your pins on/off during this matching process.
  • Place it in a convenient location for you.
  • Safety pins are metal, therefore let them cool down after you take them out of the dryer.
  • Do not use any safety pins with plastic on them. These may melt during the drying cycle.
