How to Make a Glaze for a Spiral Ham

Things You'll Need
- 1 8 lb. precooked spiral-sliced ham
- 1 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 cup orange marmalade
- 2 tbsps. fresh-squeezed orange juice
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
- 2 oranges, sliced
- Roasting pan
- Serving Platter
- Sharp knife

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Using a sharp paring knife, make shallow cross-cuts over the ham's surface.

Place ham in roasting pan and bake for 30 minutes.

Combine maple syrup, marmalade, orange juice, cloves and pepper in a small bowl.

When the ham has baked for 30 minutes, remove from the oven. Increase the oven temperature to 425 degrees.

Arrange oranges in the roasting pan around the ham's base.

Brush the ham and orange slices with a thick layer of glaze and return to the oven.

Baste the ham every 10 minutes until it become caramelized on the surface, approximately 50 minutes total

Arrange the ham and oranges on the serving platter and allow to rest for 15 minutes before serving.
