How to Zipper Combat Boots
The combat boot is an essential item for any self-respecting punk rock girl. They're bold, they come in basic black and a rainbow of fun colors, and can take a frilly dress from prom queen to mob scene. They go from day to night, season to season: Combat boots are the little black dress of the alt-crowd. But what do you do when you find the perfect pair--perfect, only that they zip, rather than tie? What on earth will you do with that zipper?

1
Insert one foot into the corresponding boot (left foot into left boot, or vice versa). Ensure that your foot is firmly in the boot, with the sole of your foot resting comfortably on the bottom of the boot.
-
2
Make sure the zipper of the boot isn't blocked by any fabric from your clothing. Check dress or pant hems, socks and tights, to be sure that nothing is blocking the path of the zipper.

3
Grasp the zipper pull firmly and pull upward until the pull meets the top of the boot. Double-check to be sure that the pull is all the way up, so the boot doesn't come unzipped mid-step and cause you to fall.
-
4
Re-check to make sure no fabric is caught in the top of the zipper. You'd hate to have the hem of your skirt or pants caught, causing the garment to come down when you stand up.

5
Repeat steps 1 through 4 with your bare foot and remaining boot.
