How to Ace Employee Performance Reviews
Performance reviews are conducted on a yearly basis in many workplaces. These reviews typically include one-on-one meetings with managers and employees to go over the accomplishments or issues employees may have had or encountered during the year. As an employee, you should come to this meeting prepared so you can get the most from your review. This guide will show you how to ace your employee performance reviews.

1
Maintain a list of your most prominent work accomplishments. Provide all documentation of these accomplishments during your performance review meeting. This documentation will help managers remember your past accomplishments quickly and easily.
-
2
Provide collaborative performance ideas during your review. In all performance reviews, you are not just listening but also coaching your boss, whether directly or indirectly. Set future performance goals such as improving your public speaking skills, obtaining additional certification or education or taking on additional work-related responsibilities. Create a deadline for meeting these goals.

Bring up any work issues you have faced in the past such as uncompleted group projects or concerns you have about job responsibilities. Explain the situation, what was unchangeable and changes you can make to avoid future issues. This shows your manager that you want to improve your job performance as much as possible.
-
4
Learn from the work critique given by your manager. Consider the critique as a helpful way to become a better employee. Try not to take the critique personally, but rather use it as an opportunity to improve your work skills so you can advance in your job.
