Perform a check of the power source for your Magic Chef dishwasher. If it will not power on, you may need to reset the circuit breaker or replace a blown household fuse. Also, the door needs to be closed securely and latched in order for the dishwasher to turn on. The water shutoff valve also needs to be turned to the on position.

Press down on the overfill protection float found under the racks inside the dishwasher. If something is stuck in it and it can't move freely, the water will not fill up inside of the Magic Chef dishwasher.

Wait it out. Magic Chef dishwashers will stop automatically if they experience overload. If you wait a few minutes, the cycle should resume.

Check the alignment of the dishwasher with the countertop if it is placed below it. To do this, compare the alignment of the closed door to the frame to make sure it lines up. If it was not aligned properly during installation, moisture from the Magic Chef dishwasher vents can build up and condensation can appear around the unit.

Adjust the water temperature used. Ideally the water temperature should be set to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, home water pressure should be between 20 to 120 psi for proper fill. Otherwise, you may see spots or stains on your dishes after the cycle has completed.
