Things You'll Need:
- Sevin Concentrate insecticide
- A pot of water
- Lawn and Garden Sprayer
-
Step 1
Steps 2 and 3-4 can be performed separately or in unison with each other. The effect should be the same.
Locate the Yellow Jacket nest. Make sure to note the hole they are coming in and out of. -
Step 2
Just after dusk sets, boil a large pot of water. Go out to the yard and carefully pour the boiling pot down the main entrance of the hive.
Beware some angry wasps could escape.
This should effectively cook the wasps and eggs inside the nest. -
Step 3
The second option is using Sevin insecticide.
Mix up the Sevin concentrate using approximately 3x the recommended amount in your lawn and garden sprayer. So 3 ounces to 1 gallon of water. -
Step 4
Just after dusk sets, go out to the yard and carefully point your sprayer as close as you can to the nest opening. Empty the entire gallon down the hole. By morning, the majority of the nest will be killed and what few remaining wasps are left will die off in a day or two.
