There are few times in life when there is as much excitement as there is when a new baby is on the way. Family and friends want to share in the joy of the expectant parents as they await the arrival of and prepare for the birth of a baby. One of the ways for friends and family to share in that excitement is to throw a baby shower for the expectant parents. Lots of planning is necessary, but most people seem to get stuck on what to do for a baby shower favor. This adorable, easy, and inexpensive homemade baby shower favor is a great solution. The favor is an edible baby pacifier.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • White round candies with a hole in them
  • White store-bought frosting
  • Pink or blue jellybeans, depending on the gender of the baby
  • Thin pink or blue satin ribbon, depending on the gender of the baby
  • 3x5-inch white index cards
  • Hole punch
  • Pink or blue pen, depending on the gender of the baby
  1. Step 1

Break a white candy in half.

  2. Step 2

Put white frosting on the broken ends and connect it to a whole white candy for the pacifier handle. Let the frosting harden.

  3. Step 3

Cut a jellybean in half and put a little white frosting on the broken side of the jellybean.

  4. Step 4

Connect the frosting side of the jellybean to the non-handle side of the whole candy so that the jellybean looks like the part of the pacifier that the baby sucks. Let the frosting harden on the easy baby shower favor.

  5. Step 5

Cut a three-inch piece of ribbon that matches the color of the jellybean you choose for your easy baby shower favor. String it through the handle part of the pacifier baby shower favor.

  6. Step 6

Cut an index card in half and write a sentence thanking the guest for attending the baby shower.

  7. Step 7

Punch a hole in the card put one end of the ribbon through the hole.

  8. Step 8

Tie the two ends of the ribbon in a bow.

Tips & Warnings
  • If it is difficult to break the white candies with your hands, you can try cutting the candy on a cutting board with a knife.
  • The store-bough frosting that is whipped does not work very well for this baby shower favor; use the regular frosting.
  • A nice touch is to write down the baby’s due date so that guests can remember when the big day is approaching.
