Ear Candling

Ear candling is an ancient old method used for ear wax removal. Ear candling helps safely remove ear wax and toxins from the ear canal using a hollow ear candle that's placed inside the ear. The heat from the ear candle inside the ear canal melts the ear wax and creates a vacuum which pulls the ear wax from the ear canal. Ear wax removal has many benefits such as improving hearing and equilibrium as well as reducing pressure that can cause migraines.

Someone must assist you with ear candling. Don't attempt to do it by yourself.

I’ve tried ear candling before and I definitely noticed improvement in my hearing. Ear candling sessions can take up to one hour or longer and it’s actually a relaxing and relieving experience.

Do not do ear candling if you currently have ear problems or have any type of cyst or tumor in your ear.

Here’s how to do ear candling for ear wax removal...........

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Someone to assist and perform the ear candling
  • Ear candles
  • A bed or couch to lie on
  • Time (at least 2-3 hours) depending on how many sessions you plan on doing

Buy some ear candles online by looking around at some health related websites, or go to a health store in your area that might sell ear candling supplies. It takes about three ear candles per ear for each ear candling session so plan on purchasing the proper amount of ear candles.

  2. Step 2
    Ear Cones

When you shop for ear candles, be sure to buy the one that will work best for you. There’s some different types of ear candles on the market. The important features of ear candles is the burning time and safety features. Here some different types:

Ear cones: These ear candles have a burning time of 5-7 minutes. Ear cones have a safety ring on them that prevent particles from dropping into the ear canal.

Hopi Candles: These ear candles are a bit longer in size so they have a burning time of 10-12 minutes. Hopi ear candles have a filter safety feature on them to prevent anything from falling into the ear canal.

Basic Candles - These ear candles usually don’t have any safety features so it’s important to follow the manufacturers instructions when using them. They also vary in size so the burning time varies.

  3. Step 3

Find someone to assist and supervise you the entire time for the ear candling session. Never do an ear candling session alone. It would be very difficult and dangerous.

  4. Step 4

Create a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Play some soothing music and maybe even dim the lights and keep the room quiet.

  5. Step 5

Lie down on a bed or couch in a comfortable position and rest your head on a pillow. Keep your ear canal in a vertical position.

  6. Step 6

Protect yourself and the surrounding area with a sheet or blanket to prevent the ear candle from dripping on skin or clothing.

  7. Step 7
    Light The Ear Candle

Have the your assistant light the ear candle on the end that does not have a label or sticker on it.

  8. Step 8

Carefully place the non-burning end of the ear candle into the ear canal and always hold it vertically. When you begin hearing the crackling burning sounds of the candle in your ear, this means the candle’s in the right spot.

  9. Step 9

Remove the ear candle before it reaches the burn line indicated on the ear candle. There should be a red line marked on the candle but this might vary depending on the type of ear candles you’re using.

  10. Step 10
    Extinguish Ear Candle

Place the ear candle in some water or dampen the end of it to put out the flame.

  11. Step 11

Remove any build up of particles or ear wax after the ear candling session has ended.

  12. Step 12

Work from one ear to the other for each ear candling session.

  13. Step 13

Wait about 10-15 minutes between each ear candling session. This way you can test the results of the ear wax removal to see if you notice any differences in hearing. When I did mine everything sounded much louder and more clear.

  14. Step 14

Remain lying down on the bed or couch and continue each session. It’s best to use up to three ear candles per ear to get the best results in ear wax removal.

Tips & Warnings
