How to Open an XBox Power Supply
A power supply is a hardware component that converts electricity into a wattage your Xbox can use. The power supply is attached to a metal housing inside the console. The power supply in an Xbox does not have an outer casing. Your Xbox power supply is open and ready to be swapped out or repaired simply by taking apart the Xbox.

Flip the Xbox over so that the bottom half of the case is facing toward you. Pull off the four rubber stoppers at the four corners of the case.

3
Use the Torx 20 screwdriver to remove the screws under the stoppers. Pull off the warranty sticker and the serial-number sticker. Remove the two screws that were under the stickers.

4
Turn the Xbox back over and lift the top plastic lid off the case. Disconnect the flat ribbon cable connected to the hard drive at the lower right of the case.

Tips & Warnings
You can acquire Torx 10 and Torx 20 screwdrivers at nearly any hardware store.
Do not touch the blue capacitors on the power supply. They hold an electrical charge even when the Xbox console isn't plugged into a wall outlet. Removing the warranty sticker and taking apart your Xbox voids the warranty provided by Microsoft.
