Most retail pharmacy chains have their own customer rewards programs. CVS, a major pharmacy retailer, has ExtraCare rewards in which you can earn Extra Bucks. This rewards program is designed to entice you into repeat visits to a CVS store. By using Extra Bucks, you can receive great discounts on products you buy at CVS.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • CVS ExtraCare card
  • CVS weekly circular
  • Computer with Internet access
  • Computer printer and paper

Use Extra Bucks for maximum savings.

  1. Step 1

Sign up for a CVS ExtraCare rewards card, either online or in store. You will receive a card to use at future visits.

  2. Step 2

Pick up the latest weekly sales circular while in the store. Look through the ad to see which products earn you Extra Bucks with your purchase.

  3. Step 3

Use manufacturer's coupons on the items that you are purchasing to receive your Extra Bucks. If you do not have any coupons for the products that you are purchasing, do a basic Internet search to see if there are any printable coupons. Go to afullcup.com for available coupons.

  4. Step 4

Once you build up a few dollars worth of Extra Bucks, use them to purchase other items that net more Extra Bucks. The goal is to not have to spend any money out of pocket. Using coupons with your Extra Bucks, you should be able to roll the Extra Bucks week to week and get free or almost free items each time.

Tips & Warnings
  • CVS lets you use one CVS coupon and one manufacturer's coupon per item, so if you have a CVS coupon for lotion and a manufacturer's coupon for that same item, you can use both.
  • Do not buy what you do not need. If your coupon makes the item a great price, but you do not need it, do not buy it. If your coupon makes the item free, go for it. Extra Bucks expire and you cannot split them, so you may have to purchase extra items to "spend" all of your Extra Bucks. Peruse the travel size section or the candy bar aisle for inexpensive items to get to your minimum amount.
