MSN Messenger is a software program that allows you to have conversations with others over the Internet. To download MSN Messenger and other MSN software and add-ons, you will need to download the Windows Live setup. It is here that will you find MSN Messenger, MSN Toolbar and similar programs.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Visit the Windows Live homepage.

  2. Step 2

    Click the "Get Messenger" link to get to the MSN Messenger page.

  3. Step 3

    Click the "Download" button and a window will open.

  4. Step 4

    Select either "Save" or "Save File" in that window to save the Windows Live setup to your computer.

  5. Step 5

    Open the MSN setup. A window will open.

  6. Step 6

    Choose each of the programs you want to install. If you wish to install just the "Messenger," check the "Messenger" box. When you've finished making your selections, click "Install.".

Tips & Warnings
  • According to the MSN Member Center, your computer must have Windows 98 or higher, at least 128 MB of RAM, a 256-color graphics card and 320 MB of disk space to download and install MSN.
