How to Remove Water Stains From Thai Silk
Thai silk is a lavish fabric originating in Thailand from a particular type of silkworm that thrives on mulberry leaves in the northeastern part of the country. This elegant fabric requires special care to keep it in good condition as so many things can damage this delicate material. Fill the bathtub or sink with warm water. Be sure that the water is warm and not hot as too much heat can be damaging to silk.

Plunge the garment into the water several times to make sure that the entire garment gets wet.

Remove the garment from the water and place it on a clean dry towel. Do not wring it out as this will damage it.

Place another towel on top of it and press gently to expel any residual moisture.

Set the garment someplace cool and dry. If you set the garment outside to dry, make sure that it isn't in direct sunlight.

When the garment is dry, place a clean cloth over the stained area and iron over it gently on a low setting.

Read the care instructions on the tag carefully. Silk is more tolerant to dry cleaning, so if the stain persists, talk to a professional dry cleaner to get the stain out.
Do not machine wash or dry silk.
