  • Ice
  • Cocktail shaker with strainer (lid is optional)
  • 1 ounce dry vermouth
  • 4 ounces gin
  • Cocktail stirrer
  • Martini glass
  • Garnish (optional)

      Put the ice cubes into a metal cocktail shaker. Pour in one ounce of dry vermouth and four ounces of gin.

      Stir the liquor around in the ice to mix it well. Alternately, you can put the lid on the shaker and give it a few shakes to blend it all together.

      Strain the dry vermouth and gin into a martini glass. Garnish, if desired, and serve right away. Discard the ice and rinse out your shaker.
