While there are multiple ways to download content to your PlayStation Portable, the most common way is to connect your PSP to the Internet and logging into the PlayStation Network Store. While a simple task, it could take a long time, depending on the size of the download.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Wireless Internet connection
  1. Step 1

Power on your console and make sure the PSP's WLAN switch is on. This will ensure that the PSP is able to access your wireless Internet connection.

  2. Step 2

Navigate to the PlayStation Network icon on the far right of the PSP's home menu, also called the XMB. Select the blue shopping bag labeled "PlayStation Store."

  3. Step 3

Connect your console to the Internet and log into the PlayStation Network when prompted. If you do not have an active PlayStation Network account, you will need to set one up.

  4. Step 4

Use the directional pad and the X button to select a game and purchase it as you browse through the PlayStation Store. You also can send it to your shopping cart.

  5. Step 5

Select "Download." After the game is downloaded, it will be installed. This will take longer for larger files. Don't interrupt the process, which could damage the download file or your console.

Tips & Warnings
  • Charge your PSP before downloading to ensure the process is uninterrupted.
  • Don't remove the memory stick from the console during the download. Doing so could damage the download, the memory card or your console.
