How to Add Thread Crochet to Clothing

Add a neckline. You can update the neckline of an old t-shirt or other top using thread crochet. Start by cutting the top into a scoop-neck style (or another shape if you prefer and feel comfortable). Then use your crochet thread and a large-eyed needle to stitch a blanket stitch around the neckline (fold down the edge of the neckline first for a more polished look). Fasten off, and get out your crochet hook; start with a row of sc into the stitching, and then go from there to build a lacy design of your choosing.

Hide a mistake. Crochet flowers, circles, squares, or any other motif shape you prefer.
