This little gem is so easy to sew that you'll be making them for everything. One for each of your outfits, for your daughters, granddaughters, sisters, aunts, your mother, friends. They make wonderful gifts as well.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    You'll need the following things:

    White paper for pattern
    pencil
    scissors
    straight pins
    sewing needle
    3/4 yard main fabric
    3/4 yard lining fabric
    thread to match
    12 Brass Rings
Heavy duty thread (to match) for sewing brass rings to purse
2 pieces 1/2 inch wide grosgrain ribbon, each 1 1/2 yards long

  2. Step 2

Draw an 18" circle with 1/4" seam allowance added on your white paper.
Cut one circle main fabric and one circle lining fabric. Place circles right sides together and stitch around leaving a small opening for turning. Turn right side out and blindstitch opening closed. Press flat. Top stitch 1/8" in from edge of circle all around.

  3. Step 3

Using your heavy duty thread and sewing needle, attach brass rings approximately 4 1/2" apart around pursette.

  4. Step 4

To finish, take grosgrain ribbon, run first piece through all twelve rings. Tie bow knot with ends of ribbon. Take second piece and starting on opposite side from first piece, run through all twelve rings, tie bow know with ends of ribbon. When you pull the two bows the pursette will gather up and close.
