Do you have a secret dream of becoming a famous author? Stop wishing and start writing; use these steps to jumpstart a career as a famous writer.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Write, write, and then write some more.

The best way to pave a path to becoming a famous author is to just keep writing. Don't get discouraged and don't take your pen away from the paper. To be a successful writer, write as much as you can, as often as you can.

  2. Step 2

Find and write for a niche that works for you.

Determine what kind of writing you are best at, as well as what kind of writing has the current largest audience. Once you find your strongest area, narrow in on that particular genre and keep creating.

  3. Step 3

    Look for a publisher.

Take your best work, and start looking for a publisher who's willing to turn you into a famous author. Show them your writing capacities, and convince them that your work has what it takes.

  4. Step 4

    Self publish your work.

If no publishing companies are taking the bait; self publish. There are innumerable opportunities for authors out there; don't let a little rejection keep you from realizing your dream career.

  5. Step 5

    Promote yourself and your writing.

Whether you end up being swooped up by a publishing company, or you end up choosing to self publish, the next step is to promote yourself and your writing. This requires work; keep at it and in the meantime, keep writing!
