Dried Apricot Clove Syrup is very easy to make and a nice, healthy change from serving maple syrup on pancakes, waffles or crepes. The best part is that the syrup will keep in the refrigerator for up to one month after preparation. I hope you try and enjoy my recipe for Dried Apricot Clove Syrup.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Dried Apricots
  • Cloves
  • Sugar
  • Lemon
  • Water
  • Blender
  1. Step 1

Into a heavy cooking pot add the following ingredients: 1 cup of thinly sliced dried apricots, 1 cup of sugar, the juice of 1 lemon, 4 cloves and 4 cups of water. Bring this mixture to a rapid boil. Reduce heat to medium until apricots slices are softened.

  2. Step 2

Simmer the syrup on low for 1 hour. When the cooking process is finished remove the 4 cloves and discard.

  3. Step 3

In a blender, puree the syrup until the apricots are blended smooth. This step should be quick, but the syrup will be thick.

  4. Step 4

If the syrup is too thick, add a small amount of water and re-boil. Refrigerate this healthy syrup until ready to serve.

Tips & Warnings
  • Microwave cold syrup for twenty seconds before serving.
  • This recipe for Healthy Dried Apricot Clove Syrup makes 2 cups.
