How to make Mickey Mouse Ears when you need them in a Jiffy. from scrap material

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Old Ball Cap (Black)
  • material 1/2 yd (Black)
  • 1 pr. Scissors, (2) Coffee Can, Plastic lids,
  • piece of Chalk
  • 1 Can of Spray Glue
  1. Step 1

    1. Lay the material down on a table, set the Plastic Coffee Can Lids down on the Material.
Trace around it with the chalk making a 1/2" border around the lids.
You will need (4) round pieces of cloth to cover the (2) plastic lids on both sides. and cut a section from the plastic lids before you glue the material down. "as per photo"

  2. Step 2

Cover your Table with News Paper to keep from spraying the glue all over the Table. Lay down one piece of the Material you cut and spray one side of the plastic lid with your spray glue. Turn it over and spray the other side or You can spray both lids at the same time.
Lay the lids on the round cut material and Press it down to the Plastic lids for adhesion. Do the same on the other side to both lids.

  3. Step 3

    2. Cut the Brim off the Cap, leaving a Beanie. It can be an old Cap and make sure it fits whom ever is going to wear the Mickey Mouse Ears.
Before the glues dry on the round ears, you can pull the material apart at the bottom, separating the two pieces, just enough to bare the edge of the plastic lids, where you removed the section from the plastic. This edge will be used to adhere to the Ball Cap Beanie, one on each side of the Beanie make two ears Mickey Mouse hat.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you find the Ears to big, you probably used the lids from a large can. Find smaller lids. You can reinforce the tabs you pulled apart at the bottom of the ears, with staples or sew them with thread, to the Top of the Beanie.
  • Allow 10 or 15 min. for drying time, Reinforce the Tabs with Staples or sewing if you think it necessary, on the bottom of the ears where glued to the cap.
  • Be careful with the spray glue, it is usually toxic and sticky. It can make a mess. if you do not cover the area with news paper.
