if you want skinny jeans or pants and dont want to buy new pants

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • thread (i use floss because its stronger)
  • needle
  • scissors
  • about 15-20 safety pins or straight pins
  • a marker
  • yard stick
  1. Step 1

first take your pants and turn them inside out, put them on as if you were going to wear them inside out. next move your pant legs down so the end of the pants reach your heel. point your foot straight out (you will want to be sitting down ).

  2. Step 2

next take your pins and pin the pant leg slack you want removed. with enough room to put your heel through ( if your heel doesn't fit through, you wont be getting your pants back on or off). so pin all the way up the leg leaving an even amount of room between your leg and the spot you pin. make sure to make both sides even or the tightness will be different on each leg. after the pins are secured to the tightness you want. remove the jeans carefully not to make any pins come out. place the jeans on the designated sewing area you have cleared off.

  3. Step 3

now take your marker (use a marker that doesn't bleed through the jeans, or that can be removed easily through the wash)and yard stick (any straight edge will work). take the marker and draw a line next to the pinned area, on the inside . this is where you will be sewing. the yard stick should help you keep it straight.

  4. Step 4

take the needle and thread (or floss)and sew short, tight, close, stitches so there is no gap in the material. if the stitches are bigger than 1/4 of an inch, when you put them on you will see gaps where the material will stretch out and possibly expose your skin. the smaller closer stitches are the most secure.

  5. Step 5

there's a couple ways to sew the stitch here are a few

  6. Step 6

when your finished sewing (and it may take a little while, Don't get discouraged, and don't use big stitches because it takes less time, in the end the bigger stitches will stretch out or break) cut off the excess material and remove the pins. turn them back right side out and try em on, and feel free to leave some excess material. If you need to re-size them it comes in handy.

Tips & Warnings
  • using pants with spandex in them will make this much easier, and exact measurements aren't as big of a deal.
  • read through the whole thing before attempting.
  • try this on pants you don't mind messing up first before attempting the pants you want to look good
