Someone just emailed you to let you know they bid on an item you were selling on eBay and they no longer want it. There is less than twelve hours left until the end of your auction what are your options? First you could ignore the email and hope someone else bids on your item, as most bidding happens in the last few hours of an auction. Or as the seller you are able to cancel the bid. Follow the simple steps below and you will be able to remove a bid placed on your eBay auction with less than twelve hours remaining.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • eBay account
  1. Step 1

First you will need to make sure you are signed into your eBay account.

  2. Step 2

Than you will need to go to http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?CancelBidShow eBay's Canceling bids placed on your listing page.

  3. Step 3

Now you will need to enter your auctions item number, the user ID of the person whose bid you are canceling and the reason for canceling the bid. For this example the reason for canceling the bid should be "The bidder contacted you and wants to back out of the auction."

  4. Step 4

Hit the "cancel bid" button and the bidders most recent bid will be canceled and the current bid amount will be recalculated.

  5. Step 5

Add the bidder to your blocked bidders list. The bidder may or may not be bid shielding but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember, canceled bids cannot be restored.
  • There is no way to cancel a bid once the auction has ended.
