How to Detox Liver Stones
Liver stones should not be mistaken for gallstones, which are formed in the bile. Liver stones appear within your liver when there is excess cholesterol in the body. They eventually make their way to the gallbladder and can be rather painful but treatable. There are ways to detoxify yourself from liver stones.

Consume foods low in sodium and protein. Excessive protein and sodium will overwork your liver. Foods low in sodium and protein include all raw vegetables and fruits. Also avoid foods rich in saturated fat, cholesterol or both. These include pastries, meats (sausage, bacon and processed meats), ice cream and egg yolks.

Consume peppermint leaves. Peppermint contains potent active ingredients including menthol and volatile oils that can help your liver soften and flush out liver stones. It may also improve the flow of bile from your liver to the gallbladder. You can consume peppermint as a tea or add the leaves to your meals. Drink one cup of peppermint tea daily.

Add plenty of turmeric to your diet. Turmeric includes a compound called curcumin, which has potent antioxidant effects. This helps your liver and kidneys flush out toxins from your body. As a result of this antioxidant effect, your liver does not have to exert too much effort to filter your blood. Instead it can focus on softening and flushing out liver stones.

Take milk thistle tablets. The active ingredient in the milk thistle herb is a phytochemical called silymarin, which stimulates your liver, helping push out liver stones. It also enhances your liver's ability to regenerate new tissue after damage occurs. The recommended dosage is one 175 mg tablet twice daily, preferably with food.
