How to Make a Body Scrub With Coffee Grounds

Things You'll Need
- 1 tablespoon used coffee grounds
- 3 tablespoons crunchy peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon wheat germ oil
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
- 5 drops essential oil of cedar wood
- Glass or ceramic bowl
- Glass jar with lid

Mix the used coffee grounds, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg and ground ginger in a glass or ceramic bowl. The cinnamon especially gives a nice uplifting scent to this body scrub. The nutmeg and ginger add to the spicy scent, which is great for people who do not care for flowery, sweet scents.

Mix in the wheat germ oil and essential oil of cedar wood. Wheat germ oil is very high in vitamin E, making it especially good for use on the skin. Wheat germ oil is also excellent for mature skin and for skin that is dry or dehydrated. It contains fatty acids that are often used as skin softeners. The vitamin E in wheat germ oil acts as a natural preservative for this body scrub. The essential oil of cedar wood is used primarily for its aroma.

Add the crunchy peanut butter and mix until a gritty paste is formed. The oil from the peanut butter helps to moisturize the skin.

Store the mixture in a glass jar and seal.

Cleanse your body in the shower as usual before using the body scrub. Massage the scrub gently onto the skin. Use extra body scrub on problem areas such as knees and elbows. Allow the scrub to penetrate the skin for 2 or 3 minutes before rinsing. Pat dry.
