Instructions

    • 1

Gather the grapes. Make sure they are of good quality (i.e. fresh) and clean them well.

    • 2

Spread the grapes onto a cookie pan, plate or other hard surface. Having a hard surface that absorbs heat will help the drying process. Make sure the grapes are spread out and aren't touching each other.

    • 3

Place a pillowcase over the grapes. A sheet or paper towel may also be used. Make sure that the object covering the grapes will not blow away, as you're trying to ensure that flies or other bugs do not reach the grapes.

    • 4

Wait two or three days to see how the grapes are progressing. Take note of how dry they are in relationship to the weather (sunlight) in the time that they've been outside. If you're not sure how far along the grapes are, try squeezing and tasting a grape or two.

    • 5

In three days to a week, the grapes should have fully developed into raisins. Heat, direct sunlight and the type of surface under the grapes all can affect how long the process will take.

    • 6

Place the raisins into an airtight container to enjoy. Make sure the sheet and surface are cleaned. Enjoy the fruits of your labor!
