The Kia Sedona is also known as the Kia Carnival. This minivan uses a standard design manifold to route intake and exhaust gases into and away from the engine. The manifold assembly, which consists of the intake and exhaust manifolds, is bolted to the engine block. This part is not a part that fails as it is non-moving and made of steel. However, many other projects on the Sedona require that you remove the manifold.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Clean the mating surfaces of the engine block and the manifold with a razor and engine degreaser. Then, wipe all surfaces with a rag.

  2. Step 2

Apply a bead of RTV sealant to the mating surface of the block and the manifold.

  3. Step 3

Press the gasket onto the manifold. You'll have about 30 seconds to 1 minute before the RTV starts to become gummy. Press the manifold to the block just before this happens.

  4. Step 4

Align the mounting holes on the manifold with the mounting holes on the engine block.

  5. Step 5

Thread the bolts into the manifold and tighten them to the block.
