Letting your puppy socialize with other dogs is very important. This enables them to play with the other dogs, which will decrease the puppies biting on you.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Letting your puppy socialize with other dogs is very important. This enables them to play with the other dogs, which will decrease the puppies biting on you. Puppies bite when they play and teethe. When they are playing with other dogs, they learn what is acceptable biting behavior. If the puppy plays too rough with the other dogs, the dogs will let them know.

  2. Step 2

Dogs learn from their pack what is acceptable and what is not. Usually a puppy will learn about the biting behavior limits before they are 4 months old, when they are in their pack, but when people take them out of that environment, before the 4 month period, the puppy does not know about the acceptable biting limits. That why letting your puppy socialize with other dogs is very important.

  3. Step 3

If a puppy does not get that dog to dog socialization, they might become fearful of other dogs. When your puppy bites you, it is treating you like one of the pack. Since it has been taken away from its natural environment, it really does not know any different. Puppies are very hyper and playful. Being in a pack of other dogs lets them get their energies out, without taking it out on you.

  4. Step 4

Dogs should also socialize with children a lot. This will help them to avoid biting children when the dog gets older. When the dog comes across something or someone, it has a choice between two emotions. It will either run from it or bark and bite it. If a dog comes across a child and hasn't had much experience with children, it will naturally either run or bite. The bigger bread dogs need to have their socialization experiences even earlier than 4 months. Its more difficult to train a bigger bread dog, than it is a smaller one, but not impossible.

  5. Step 5

In order to stop your puppy from biting, you will have to keep its trust. This means that yelling, kicking, hitting your puppy will not make it stop biting. The dog will end up not trusting you. Socialization before 4 month, with both children and other dogs will ease your puppies biting madness.
