Clean and Remove Dirt and Grass Stains From Football and Baseball Uniforms

As the parent of two very active young athletes I understand the importance of how to remove stains from their uniforms. Removing stains is a priority each and every week as soon as the boys come in off the playing field. Making sure that their uniforms come out clean without ruining them is of utmost importance.

Here is the proper way to do it.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Dirty Uniform
  • OxiClean
  • Laundry Detergent
  • Water
  • Bucket or sink
  • Stiff Brush
  1. Step 1

Prepare a small bucket or sink with warm water.

  2. Step 2

Drop in 1 scoop of Oxiclean into warm water and stir mixture. Make sure that the water and Oxiclean powder are blended to make a sudsy mixture.

  3. Step 3

Place the uniform in the warm water for approximately 10 minutes. You can agitate the uniform in the mixture by hand.

  4. Step 4

After the uniform has been totally saturated with the soapy water take out the uniform to pre-treat the visible dirt and grass stains. Inspect the uniform for any and all stains that will need pre-treating.

  5. Step 5

Apply additional Oxiclean on the visible stain. Make a slight paste out of the mixture. Use a stiff brush to rub the mixture into the stain. Places that tend to need additional scrubbing include knees and butt area.

  6. Step 6

Place back in the bucket or sink for an additional 10 minutes.

  7. Step 7

Take out uniform and launder as per tag.

Tips & Warnings
  • Repeat all steps as needed.
  • Do not place in dryer if stains are still visible.
