Step 1
Treat your hair gently. Do not scrub your head hard while shampooing, or with the towel after your shower. Instead, pat your hair dry gently.
-
Step 2
Use a comb on your hair rather than a brush. The comb is much gentler on your hair. If you must use a brush, work tangles out with your fingers and never drag the brush through your hair to remove tangles. Never brush your hair when it is wet.
-
Step 3
Use a quality shampoo. Cheap shampoos tend to be more drying and can cause your hair to become thin and brittle. Your hair will be healthier if you use a good quality shampoo. Purchase your shampoo and conditioner from a salon for best results.

Step 4
Take a complete multivitamin to be sure that your body is getting everything it needs to produce strong, healthy hair.

Step 5
Give yourself a hot oil treatment once a week to moisturize your hair and make it stronger. VO5 makes a good hot oil treatment that you can use at home.
