Things You'll Need:
- Wire ring
- Florist wire
- Silk or preserved leaves
- Wire cutters
- Ribbon
- Scissors
-
Step 1
Place your wreath ring on your work surface. Attach the florist wire at the top of the ring.
-
Step 2
Place a group of 3 to 5 leaves on the ring, on top of the wire.
-
Step 3
Wrap the wire firmly around the bottom of the leaves and the wire ring. Pull the florist wire snugly so it holds the leaves in place on the ring.
-
Step 4
Repeat this process all the way around the wire ring. Hold up your work frequently, and check to make sure your leaf wreath is forming into an evenly-sized shape.
-
Step 5
Add leaves in thin or uneven sections. Slide the additional leaves into the wrapped sections by sticking the leaf stems into the other leaves. Adjust the leaves where necessary. Make sure your florist wire is wrapped firmly around the leaves.
-
Step 6
Complete wrapping the leaves around the ring. To finish your leaf wreath, lift up the first section of leaves you attached to your ring. Tuck your last section of leaves underneath the first section and wire them into place.
-
Step 7
Smooth over the first section of wrapped leaves. Adjust them on top of the last section of leaves you wired to your ring.
-
Step 8
Wrap the florist wire several times around the metal ring and cut. Smooth the wire end into place.
-
Step 9
Cut a section of florist wire. Make a loop out of the wire. Attach the loop to your leaf wreath. You may hang your leaf wreath from this loop.
-
Step 10
Add a simple bow. Metallic ribbon or lace adds an elegant touch. Attach the bow with a section of florist wire.
