Step 1
Contact your local cooperative extension agent to see if they have a local farm listing. These listings give the name of the farms and what they produce and their contact information, and will tell you if grass fed organic beef is available. If you can't find them in your phone book, search "cooperative extension 'your county'".
-
Step 2
Go to localharvest.org. This site lists small farms across the country by location and products sold, including grass fed organic beef.
-
Step 3
Check your local food coop. Most counties across the country have at least one, and they're trying to support local farms that produce products such as grass fed organic beef.
-
Step 4
Go to the Weston Price Foundation online and consider becoming a member. Members receive lists and updates of sources for healthy foods, including grass fed organic beef. And, membership fees help promote the effort to make grass fed organic beef and other pastured and organic products more and more available.

on 11/25/2009 Very good article. We've found several grass-fed, organic beef farms in our area and have been thrilled to be able to buy it. Not only is that meat more healthful, but it's got the best beef flavor we've ever tasted. Thanks for sharing! 5*
