Step 1
Have an up to date contact lens prescription. This prescription is different from a regular glasses prescription. So if you have glasses and are looking to switch to contact lenses for the first time, you will need to schedule an appointment with your optometrist before you can purchase or receive free contact lenses. By law, vision and contact lens prescriptions are only good for 1 year. If it has been longer than a year, it's time to schedule another eye exam.
-
Step 2
Visit all of the major contact lens web sites such as Acuvue.com and Freshlookcontacts.com. Both of these sites have offers for a free trial pair of contact lenses. That's right free contact lenses. All you have to do is go to the web site and submit your info and they will send you a voucher for a free pair of contacts within a couple weeks. These web sites are also packed with contact lens rebate and promotional offers.
-
Step 3
Head to your local Optometrist, eye care specialist, or pharmacy. These places normally have a number of free sample contact lenses that are given to them by the manufacturers. They don't advertise them however so you will have to ask if they have any free samples available. I go to my local Costco and the guy in the vision department gives me all sorts of contact lens and saline solution samples for free. Even a few free colored contact lenses from time to time.
