Step 1
Facebook friends. You can’t view someone’s full profile until you are friends with them. To make friends with someone on Facebook, add them as a friend first.
-
Step 2
Random friends. If you find someone on your friend’s page that is your friend, click “add to friends” on their profile. They will receive a friend request. Facebook will then ask them how they know you. This information will be sent back to you. You can edit or confirm the information. When the information is confirmed, they are added to your friends list.
-
Step 3
Classmates Search. Click on “search” on the left-hand side and then click on “find classmates”. Your school or college should already be set up in this section when you added it to your profile at the time you created your profile. If you did not add this information at the time you created your profile, do it now. To find a classmate, enter the person’s name in the box and click “search for classmates”. Once you found that friend, click “add to friends”.
-
Step 4
Messaging and poking. If you found a random person and you are not sure if they will accept you as a friend, try sending a message. To send a message, click “send message” to the right of their photo. Type something in the box and click “send”. To poke someone, click “poke him” or her on the right of their photo. They will receive a notification that they were poked by you.
-
Step 5
Co-workers search. Click on “search” on the left-hand side. Click on “find coworkers”. Enter a company name and the name of the person you are searching for. Click “search for Coworkers”. Once you find that person, add them as a friend.
-
Step 6
Search engine. Sometimes you can’t find friends from your school or company because they did not list it in their profile. Click on “search”. Enter the name of the person. Then click “search”. Most likely then one person has the same name as the person you are looking for. You just have to search until you find that person. So that’s it, you are done.
