Choose your washcloths. Take a washcloth and fold it in half. Then roll the washcloth into a log. Take a rubber band and wrap it over the washcloth roll. Wrap the rubber band a couple times if necessary. Make sure the washcloth is secure and won't unravel. Repeat with all your washcloths. The number you'll need depends on the size of the cake.

Take several rolled and rubber band-wrapped washcloths and arrange them in a circular pattern like a cake layer. Wrap clear tape around the washcloth cake layer's outside. Make a second smaller layer of washcloths and take the outside of these as well.

Place the smaller layer on top of the bottom layer so you have a tiered cake. Cut a long piece of string and poke it through a few washcloths on the bottom top and bottom layers so they connect and hold the layers together. Tie in a secure knot and tuck in so the string is hidden.

Choose a wide, decorative ribbon. Tape the ribbon end to the outside of one of the washcloth layers. Wrap it around the entire layer then cut and tape the other end. Repeat with the other layer.

5
Add baby toys or baby toiletries such as lotions, shampoo and diaper rash-cream. Stick these in between the washcloths or tape onto the washcloth cake. You can also add bows, ribbons or other decorations.
