1
Assemble all the items necessary for this project before beginning. Make sure to have everything within easy reach so you do not have to walk away from the wax once it starts melting.
-
2
Prepare your pillar form. Cut a length of wick that is 3 inches longer than the form. Secure one end of the wick with a wick holder and center it at the bottom of the pillar form. Tie the other end of the wick to a skewer. Lay the skewer across the top of the pillar form. Center the top end of the wick. Set aside.

4
Pour the wax into the pillar form. Rearrange the wick if necessary. Allow the wax to cool completely.

Follow the package directions to remove the candle from the pillar mold. Allow the candle to cure for at least 24 hours before burning.

Tips & Warnings
Experiment with fragrances and dyes. It might take a little practice to get the color and the aroma just right. Line your work surface with newspaper to protect it from wax and dye.
Never walk away from wax on the stove. It can boil over in a short time and cause a fire. Don't use gas stoves when working with wax. The flames can cause a fire that is difficult to extinguish. Be patient when allowing soy wax to cool. Depending on the size of your pillar candle, it might take several hours to set.
