Things You'll Need:
- Person to call :)
- Phone
- Computer either desktop or a laptop connected to the internet
- even a video phone
- and a computer peripheral
-
Step 1
Rates and monthly bills concerns:
Cellular Phones may be your first choice, but it can be very costly to do so if you have not included international calling plans on your account.
Landlines may also surprise you with the bill at the end of the billing cycle, check with your provider's rates.
Or, you may either choose to buy one of those calling cards you see for sale on supermarkets and gas stations, these are prepaid cards with codes on them, so your calls don't go over budget!
There's another budget friendly here: use the free calling devices that are currently out in the market, that would only need an initial cash out from your pocket and forever be free of fees!
Broadband phones are making a great wave, for their practical rates. It converts your voice into digital packets that are sent over the internet and converted back into analog signals before they reach the receiver on the other end. Cool, huh?
Make sure you read the fine prints when purchasing any of these products, because of some limitations that might either work or not- for you. Both of them are not advisable to be used with celfones but rather with a land line. -
Step 2
On the go and travelling light?
Deal with your celfone provider: They might be able to give you a great deal with long distance and overseas calls if you’d let them know that you will be using your celfone to make all that connections. There’s nothing more convenient than being able to dial it straight from your celfone, not having to cram for a card and a computer with internet access. Great for people on the go and traveling light. -
Step 3
For Techies and Homies:
If you have your laptop with you every where you go and lucky to always be in the range of some free wifi connection location, then you are the man!
Skypeitout! People at home may simply just use the widely known Skype.
Register with Stanaphone, where you can get a free phone number, free voicemail that goes to your email if you weren't on line. And not to forget some types of Messengers that come along with your new email accounts. They all require internet connection, and software installation. when you are ready, the only thing it will really need so you can use it like a real telephone is a computer microphone. Some laptops come with the microphone and camera built in already, if you do not have it on, they are easy to find in the leading stores for office and electronics. These internet based services, you can even contact any celfones or computers around the world for minimal rates or most of the time, for free. For a live talk option, you will need a camera, which is not bad at all. Why not see the person who’s on the other line for a greater experience? -
Step 4
Video Phones
It has been around and been used on the TV show The Apprentice. I think some choose to purchase them because they don't have to do all kinds of technical stuffs to make it work. It works just like a real home phone, it looks like it too, but with a camera and a monitor that is vivid, big enough for you to see the subject and the background on the other line. The other person should have it too for you to make it work as intended. -
Step 5
cheap and much better, FREE long distance and overseas calls: Better look them all up now on search websites using the keywords and get dialing soon.
