Step 1

First you will go to www.talkster.com. Once there you will enter your name and phone number as well as your friend's name and phone number. You will repeat this first step for all of your out of state friends. Write down all the phone numbers in your phone book, I would put a note such as Talkster beside their new phone numbers.
Step 2

Once you have your phone numbers, make a note of your new phone number and call your friend's new number. When your friend picks up tell them to hang up and call you on your new number.
Step 3

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT DON'T HANG UP!! When your friend calls your new number, they will be directly connected to you.

Okay now talk as long as you like for FREE :-)

Tips & Warnings

The local Talkster numbers that they assign to you are regular landline phone numbers. While Talkster doesn't charge you for calling your Talkster number from your landline or mobile phone, your own phone provider may charge you something for this call. If you are unsure about this, please check with your phone provider.
Talkster does not guarantee to cover all area codes in the US and Canada at this time; so if you are unsure whether the number assigned to you is local to your calling area, please check with your service provider.
If you are not sure that the phone number you've been provided is not local. DO NOT CALL IT TILL YOU CALL YOUR PHONE SERVICE PROVIDER TO MAKE SURE IT IS A LOCAL PHONE NUMBER. I would hate for you to use this thinking that the phone calls you are making are free but that they end up costing you big bucks at the end of month.
Write down all the phone numbers in your phone book, I would put a note such as Talkster beside their new Talkster phone numbers.
