Things You'll Need:
- self respect
- self esteem
- realistic view of yourself
- money
- excellent, reputable hair place
- sense of humor
-
Step 1
Take a realistic view of yourself.
Why are you getting hair?
For yourself?
For someone else?
Are you thinking about getting new hair to become the next sex symbol of your area? Or are you thinking of getting hair to feel better about yourself? -
Step 2
Think of what you want to accomplish with this new look.
Temporary hair? The paint-on method is... well, it is something. I knew a fellow who used this method to cover thinning hair. Not convincing, nor was it flattering.
Semi permanent?
Tape on toupees are not the best look and is one easily discovered.
Permanent?
These may be expensive, but the hair is on your head, every day for everyone to see. Think about that.
A man I know got the best, and told everyone his plans before, during and after. He looks very handsome with his hair, and earned the respect and admiration of those around him. -
Step 3
How important is hair to you?
To be honest, for those of us female types, hair is not at the top of the list to determine a "good match".
If getting a hairpiece is very important to you, get the best. Do not expect the world to change because you have hair. If things change, great, if they don't, so what? -
Step 4
Do you have a sense of humor?
Can you handle the questions and comments that will drift your way when hair appears on your head?
Realize that your friends, co workers and acquaintances will know that you are getting new hair. You have two choices - pretend that it is natural (earning comments and sniggers from others) or be up front about your plans and answer the questions that come forth (earning respect and admiration for your honesty and openness)
