How to Use a Girl's Height Calculator

Your child's height can be used to estimate how tall she'll be as an adult.

Proud parents often wonder how tall their girls will be when they grow up. Doctors often use a height calculator to determine a child's projected height as an adult. Instead of making a trip to the doctor's office, you can easily do some calculations yourself to determine your child's estimated adult height. Remember that such calculations are estimates and should not be taken as gospel.

Instructions

    • 1

Convert the height of the child's mother and father to inches. To do this, multiply the number of feet by 12, and add the remaining inches. For example, if Mom is 5 feet 2 inches, this would translate to be 62 inches tall.

    • 2

Determine the father's height and subtract 5 from it. Then add that figure to the mother's height. For example, if Dad were 66 inches tall, you would calculate 66 - 5 = 61, and 61 + 62 = 123.

    • 3

Divide the result you found in Step 2 by two. So in the example, 123 divided in half equals 61.5 inches.

    • 4

Convert this number back into feet and inches, and you have completed the girl's height estimate. In the example, 61.5 inches translates to 5 feet 1.5 inches.
