Things You'll Need:
- Great imagination.
- Vacation time from work.
-
Step 1
Pick where you want to go and explore. Maybe there’s a town close to you within driving distance that you have always wanted to visit but just haven’t had the time to go. Now during your staycation you do have the time.
-
Step 2
Investigate on the internet. Search the internet for things to do. Often times websites of towns will list what there is for visitors to do whether you are planning to stay a day or more.
-
Step 3
Make a list and discuss with your family. Include the kids in on what things there are to do and maybe put it to a family vote. This is what we do in my family, and this helps to make plans definite based on what the kids are interested in doing.
-
Step 4
Make plans. Set this as your itinerary. Now granted, you don’t have to come up with a set itinerary for your staycation. If you are only making a day of it, then obviously you can’t do everything in one day. Pick the most important one or ones that you want to do. It may change while you are out for the day as well.
