How to Order Prepared Food Online for Overnight Delivery
Whether it be for a gathering or just an indulgence, ordering prepared meals is truly a convenience. Prepared-food companies will deliver gourmet meal, which you can heat in minutes in your microwave. Most prepared-food companies ship their products using a standard ground service; however, if you need the food quickly, or simply do not like the idea of having to wait around for it, it is possible to have the meals delivered overnight. Select a prepared-food company that offers an overnight delivery option. Impromptu Gourmet and Family Chef (see Resources) will deliver overnight.

Keep the date in mind. Some prepared-food companies will only ship on certain days of the week. For example, Family Chef ships overnight on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Browse through the company's Web site, and add whatever appeals to your tastes or caters to your dietary needs to your shopping cart.

Fill out the ordering form, and select "overnight delivery" as your shipping option. Remember that the shipping costs are based on total weight or price and can be quite expensive. The company will charge you an extra $15 to $30 on top of the standard shipping cost for overnight delivery.

Make sure that you or somebody else is home the next day to receive the package. Some companies may require that the delivery service obtain a signature. The delivery service may also not be willing to leave the package at the door if you live in an apartment building.

If your prepared-food company does not offer an overnight delivery option, it never hurts to e-mail or call their customer service department and ask if it is possible to arrange for one. They may be willing to do so.
