How to Save a Game in Final Fantasy X
In a game like Final Fantasy X, you're going to need to save a lot. You could always just go for days without powering off your console, but considering it'll take you upwards of 40 hours to beat the game (and even longer to complete it 100%), odds are you're going to want to take a lot of breaks. Saving your progress is a breeze in FFX.

1
Make sure your PlayStation 2 memory card is inserted into the console. You can put it in either slot one or slot two; it doesn't make a difference so long as it's in correctly.
-
2
Play the game and find a save sphere (a sphere surrounded by a ring). Walk over to it and click the action button. This should bring up a menu prompt and heal your characters.

3
Select "Save." If you don't want to save at this time, choose "Cancel."
-
4
Choose the memory card slot you would like to save to. You can save to slot one or slot two, depending on where your memory cards are. Select the save area and press X. The game will save. Never remove your memory card, power off the console or reset the console while the game is loading or saving. This could corrupt your file data and lose your progress permanently.

Tips & Warnings
Save as often as possible. You never know what lies on the path ahead, and it's better to be safe than sorry. If you're worried about making a mistake or missing special items, save multiple files.
Without a memory card, you can't save game data. Make sure you have enough space on your card before you start playing. Each Final Fantasy X file takes up 64 Kb of space on your memory card.
