AARP The Magazine and The AARP Bulletin are available both in print and online, and offer valuable information to seniors on issues of importance to them.

      Evaluate the membership qualifications. You must be age 50 or older for a full membership. A full membership is now the equivalent of what was previously a gold membership. This is the standard membership for anyone over the age of 50 and includes all the AARP benefits and discounts. For younger people who are interested in membership and support of the AARP, an associate membership is available. AARP membership is available online or by phone.

      Login to the AARP website, go to the membership tab, and purchase a membership. Provide your name, address, date of birth, phone number,and email information. Print your membership card from the AARP website.

      If you joined by phone, you will receive your card via U.S. mail.

      Start using your AARP membership. You may access the website to get discounts on travel, insurance, and other needs. Be sure to check out their suggestions on saving on health insurance and prescription drugs.

  • If you are unable to join and get a gold (full) AARP membership via the internet, call 1-888-687-2277 to speak to a customer service agent from 7:00 a.m.- 11:00 p.m. EST. Spanish speakers may call 1-877-627-3350 to join. The AARP website allows you to renew your full (gold) membership online and purchase gift memberships for others. There is also a feedback form for any questions or comments you may have regarding your membership. Recently, the AARP has partnered with gyms such as Curves and Gold's Gym to offer discount fitness memberships.
