To wire up a central air conditioning thermostat is easier than you think. First thing to do is to remove the cover off the old thermostat step and write down where all the colored wires go to. This is very important.

Remove the wires one by one. Avoid any wires from touching one another. It is low voltage but you can damage the transformer in the process. Remove the old thermostat from the wall.

Install the new thermostat on the wall. Make sure it is level. Connect the wires to the proper connections as stated in the manual provided. If you follow the manual you will have no trouble at all. My daughter installed hers and she has never done it before.

People try to make things seem harder than they really are. Take your time and carefully attach the wires as instructed and you will be just fine. Installation manuals are easy to read and the wires on your old thermostat are color coded for installation reasons. Take your time.
